NEIGHBOURING PARISHES
OUR BENEFICE
St Peter and St Paul is at the heart of the delightful Cotswold village of Blockley. For more than a thousand years the church has been a landmark at the centre of the village., but we do not worship and work alone. We belong to a large group of churches called the Vale and Cotswold Edge Benefice (VaCE) which covers thirteen villages. The Benefice is divided into three groups and our group, looked after by our vicar, Dana, embraces the Parish of St Peter and St Paul, Blockley (which includes the Paxford Mission Church), the Parish of St Eadburgha, Ebrington and the Parish of St Lawrence, Bourton-on-the-Hill. The Benefice is part of the North Cotswold Deanery of the Diocese of Gloucester.
Where possible churches are open every day, and prayer space is set aside to leave your own prayers. Our worship on Sundays is broad, including both traditional and modern services. Newcomers to the villages and visitors are very welcome.
Working together as part of a benefice group enables us to offer more diversity of worship and liturgy, within a limited geographical area. We also share some activities and services, for example our regular children’s work is based in Blockley for children from all three churches in our group. The other two churches have their own websites where you can find out more about them. There is also a VaCE website.
