SAFEGUARDING

Diocese of Gloucester Safeguarding Office

The parish of Blockley: St Peter & St Paul is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, (PSO). The Diocese of Gloucester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact our PSO (see below) or the Safeguarding Office (01452 835516). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Reporting abuse and finding support

NSPCC helpline for Children and Adults: 0800 80 20 20

This is a special helpline that has been set up for those who have been affected either directly or indirectly by abuse in a church or cathedral setting. Calls will be handled sensitively and confidentially.

We understand reporting abuse may be very difficult and distressing to you and it may add to your hurt by our not being able to immediately assist you. Therefore here are the contact details of other agencies that are available to assist either on a 24-hour basis or through specialist helplines and services. Finding support contacts.

Digital Charter

As the church of St Peter & St Paul of Blockley, we have signed up to the Church of England’s digital charter.

This is a voluntary pledge that we’re encouraging individual Christians as well as churches to sign to help make social media and the web more widely positive places for conversations to happen.
