Christingle celebrations

It was a joy to welcome parents, carers, children, teachers and friends to Blockley Church for the annual Christingle service. It is a service of anticipation as we look forward to Christmas and are reminded to thank God for the world and all the gifts and people in it and that Jesus is the light of the world, come to show his love for all by dying and rising again for us. The light shines and the darkness cannot put it out. It is always a special moment when the first Christingle candle is lit, the lights are turned off and the flame is passed from candle to candle.
